Vester Alba Experientia

A collaboration with the Koninklijke Bibliotheek. The project takes the library's Alba Amicorum collection as inspiration for an exhibition made within the EU project Open Digital Libraries, which promotes access to, and creative use of, digital library collections.

The project brings together a new generation of artists and the elderly, creating an inclusive and meaningful experience in a rapidly ageing world. Inspired by the Alba Amicorum books, we designed a physical, interactive space where people reconnect with the sensation of holding and reading antique books. By amplifying the tactile, olfactory and visual qualities of these historic texts, the space offers a sense of rejuvenation for the ageing body and its senses.
